Project Overview

DesignMonk is an attractive, user-friendly, self-onboarding platform that gives teams and the world self-service access to the most up-to-date brand elements and how to use them. The platform simplifies brand element management, improving brand consistency and designer, agency, and marketing team productivity. Designed for anyone managing a brand, not just professional designers. With no shared folders or expiring links, elements are easily accessible and with the platform's intelligent export functionality, users can quickly download them in the format and size they need.

Problem Statement

Despite the fact that brand consistency contributes to over 20% of a company's revenue growth, currently, 70% of companies do not have brand guidelines or use them selectively. As a result, 77% of companies generate content outside of brand guidelines. This leads to more than 64% of creative teams spending over 10 hours per week on mundane tasks such as searching and simple editing. This mismanagement of creative teams is causing an average hidden cost of 500€ per month for companies.

Solution

A platform designed for anyone managing a brand, not just professional designers, and eliminates the need for shared folders or expiring links. With the platform's intelligent export functionality, users can quickly download elements in the format and size they need, improving productivity and reducing the hidden costs associated with mismanagement of creative teams. With DesignMonk, companies can easily and effectively manage their brand elements and improve consistency, productivity, and cost-efficiency.

Design and development process

To validate the idea behind DesignMonk, we first sent out web forms and arranged 1-on-1 interviews with key individuals. Once our hypothesis was validated, we began sketching the concept and selected users to validate the idea. This guided us in creating our first high-fidelity UI mockup, which we used to showcase the product and start promoting a waiting list. As we were fulfilling the list, we simultaneously worked on creating a functional MVP. For this process, we used Scrum for development, Agile for marketing, and guided our objectives with the North Star methodology and 5W2H for tasks. Through customer surveys and interviews, we were able to speak with over 100 individuals with design, marketing, and business profiles, primarily from Brazil and Spain.

The MVP

The MVP was designed with the user at the center of focus. All features included in the MVP were previously validated with early adopters. This approach ensured that the MVP fully meets the needs of our target users and provides an optimal user experience. By centering the user in the MVP development process, we were able to create a product that is tailored to their specific needs and is more likely to be successful in the market. This approach also allowed us to gather valuable feedback from early adopters, which we used to further improve and refine the MVP before its official launch.

Results

DesignMonk is a platform that has received positive results since its launch. The platform's user-centered approach and validation with early adopters has led to high levels of user satisfaction. There has been a significant increase in engagement and usage of the platform, with over 200 users on the waiting list, 15 early adopters testing and using the platform, and users from more than 13 countries. Additionally, the platform's marketing efforts have been successful in bringing in new users and raising brand awareness. The platform has also had a positive impact on clients' brand consistency and the productivity of their creative teams, leading to cost savings. The team behind DesignMonk continues to work on growing and improving the platform, and it is believed to have the potential to revolutionize the way brands manage their elements.

Conclusion

In conclusion, DesignMonk is an online SaaS platform that simplifies the management of brand elements, improving consistency and productivity not only for designers, agencies, and marketers, but also for many other target groups. The platform's user-centered approach and validation with early adopters has resulted in high levels of user satisfaction and a significant increase in engagement and usage. As a SaaS platform, it's available for anyone anywhere in the world, making it accessible for a broad range of users and it has a huge potential for many unexplored fields, such as other business sectors, SMEs or even individuals who need to manage their personal brand. The platform's marketing efforts have been successful in raising brand awareness and bringing in new users. Additionally, it has had a positive impact on clients' brand consistency and cost savings. There are future plans to improve and grow the platform, such as adding new features to better serve the needs of the users.

Visual Aids

Visual aids in DesignMonk include final designs and mockups of the platform's user interface, branding elements and marketing materials. These visual aids are crucial in showcasing the final look and feel of the platform, as well as the branding elements that are available for users to access. It helps to give the users an idea of how the platform will look and feel like when they use it. These final designs are created based on user feedback and validation to ensure that they meet the needs and expectations of the users. They are also used to present the platform to potential clients and investors, giving them a clear understanding of the platform's capabilities and potential. Overall, visual aids play a key role in making DesignMonk a user-friendly and accessible platform for all, providing a clear and engaging representation of the platform's features and branding elements.
